She's doing what is asked of her until she gets scared, and then K scares her further". But then i read it again...

I rode a horse once who'd buck wildly when he didn't feel like picking up the right lead, thinking i'd forget what i was asking of him. If we were out on a trail ride and he felt like going home, he'd try to buck me off to get what he wanted. He was too smart for me, that was the problem. He decided what jumps he bothered jumping and which ones were "scary" (leaving me on the ground around the jumps), and i wasn't able (or brave enough) to push him past it.

A horse gets dangerous when he decides to play nice as long as he's never asked to do things that he considers too much work - and explodes when he's had enough.Angelinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11960753680448690916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4380534023229200743.post-78177489550251678142011-04-28T02:26:57.107-06:002011-04-28T02:26:57.107-06:00WOAH! Walk him to the pasture he was great, walk him any where else and his front feet would fly until you put him in his place. Ride him for a few minutes and it was great. Ride him and ask him to move out in a trot or lope and he would try and kick you and just pitch a fit. He could be pushed and made to behave with everyday work, but put someone on him that didn't push and he went back to snotty. Tally sounds like she had this mastered in a wicked way though.foxtrotterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01822550326812928072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4380534023229200743.post-15243124090125443452011-04-27T21:10:04.978-06:002011-04-27T21:10:04.978-06:00"She did it to herself and I don't see an..."She did it to herself and I don't see any bone sticking out."

Best line EVER!!AKPonyGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02969589711581884433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4380534023229200743.post-87773913248087087292011-04-27T20:53:51.985-06:002011-04-27T20:53:51.985-06:00Funny thing, I think you both are right, or rather...Funny thing, I think you both are right, or rather the end point will turn out "the same" a broke horse, just one route longer.
If one considered her behavior as scared, all of the steps (for a true horseman, not a feelie NHer)are focused on calm, learning, accepting, and hopefully eventually enjoying her work.
His is intimidation or however you want to phrase it to push her out of her mad.
Which method do you think will produce the horse that will give you her all when the chips are down?
