Human, Canine, Equine

Where my mind is wandering these days. It gets worse...

Think how they could get these suckers going with the right "performance shoes!"

  1. Oh, that big lick horse makes me feel a little queasy and I'm in pain on behalf of the first set of German Shepherds.

I think I know where you are going with this and I have an inkling that it's going to be a good discussion.

  2. And now can we all go outside and throw up? Nothing can be too sick and perverse for the human mind to think up, it seems. And, yes, it gets worse. And none of those that have tried to argue some healthy sense into sick minds have ever succeeded. Ah, but I can't - I should be taking my blood pressure instead of commenting. -irmgard

  3. Oh! The last video made me emotional watching those awesome dogs and their handlers! I have a friend who has done Schutshund with her Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, but certainly not to that level.

I was able to educate one of my co-workers with the truth about the "beautiful" horses he saw in a TN horse show. Needless to say he was shocked and had a different view after I showed him some of the abuse and how a Tenn Walker should go.

Those GSD's in the second clip were beautiful!

  4. KD - I know. I am so hooked. Brockle sticks out like a sore thumb at practice, but he's learning. We are just now, starting to think about trying for our BH.

  6. Champagne Watchout is so gorgeous. He looks jaunty and carefree, especially when compared to the other TWH in the videos. It's a night-and-day difference.

  7. As a farrier I just cannot wrap my head around making horses lame instead of sound. I know a lot of the good ol' boys do it all themselves. It's been a long, long time since I rolled up my sleeves and beat the stuffing out of somebody (I like to think I'm all grown up!) but I can't even write what I would do to someone I caught soring one of those horses. Pathetic, disgusting, blind, hard, dishonest, nasty people. Nasty.

And you know CW's rider's life was threatened, right? She had the nerve to be *gasp* colored!! And riding a sound horse!! She nearly died, and other people have died over this. If you bitch too loudly, one day you just don't come back from the swamp.

  8. I couldn't finish watching that first one. I can't wrap my head around that. How in God's name is that is OK in any world. So upsetting. Same with the second one. It was nice to see the TWH in the third, but again I couldn't finish just because of the others. It makes me so very angry.

  9. Janet - I did a little regular obedience with my Great Dane many years ago, but didn't keep up with it. I am looking forward to see how you two progress with your new passion! Please keep us updated.

  10. It is painful to watch these poor creatures move. Humans are just plain Bat Crap Crazy sometimes.

    Brockle is a lucky guy!

  11. Couldn't watch more than a few seconds of the first video, it's absolutely vile. Why isn't it illegal?
The Shepherds,(or Alsatians as we used to call them) well it's heartbreaking what they've done to the breed. My Grandad used to breed them and train them as working dogs back in the forties and fifties, I've seen numerous photos (never seen a photo of my mum as a child without a dog in it) and they were very different to this. I wish I had a picture here to show you how gorgeous they were but they were similar to this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/Pietoro/Dog%20Breed%20Historical%20Pictures/German%20Shepherd/1938_GermanShepherd_CH_JANITOROFPICARDY.jpg

  13. I have read that Champagne Watchout's owners had difficulty entering him in the main class at the Celebration. Their reasoning ranged from the type of shoes he was wearing (which were within the class's specifications), to concerns that he would move too slowly and cause traffic problems in the class, and I can't remember the rest off the top of my head. They went through a lot just to show him. I believe they brought him back again in 2012. It takes guts to go against the grain.

  14. The more I'm around breeders, breed associations and show circuits (of all species) the less I like people.
