Hope to find a loving family for our long time pups!

(Colorado springs)

We have had Missy and Meeko from birth they're both Shitzus;
we brought them home when our children were very young. Our 6 children have
loved them for 10 years. But now they have all grown, and gone on their own way . . .
.and this poor old couple, spends most of their time, in their crate. . .
Would love to find a family that could spend some time with them. . .
Missy is the ultimate lap dog. . .she loves to lay around and watch Soaps..
and Meeko loves to play and he'll even dance for you. :0)

Please contact via email if interested, have a blessed day!

Poor old dogs! :( They wouldn't even know what to do with another family! I am currently looking after my parents' old dog (will be 17 this year) and her companion (a dog they adopted to keep the old one company 'cause she was so lonely during the day when my parents are at work that she was dying). The old dog is a pain in the a$$ most days as she has her 'old lady' issues...But, geeze! She is still so happy and has a good quality of life that my parents just couldn't reason to euthanize her yet. Situations like this ad make me wanna PUKE! Look after your ENTIRE family dammit!

What the Fuck? I'm not even going to be nice and use abbreviations.

One of my dogs turns 13 today, I saw him on the first day of his life, and I will be there until the last minute. My other dog is 11, and my cat is 17. I enjoy them all more now than I did when they were young.

I would go get those two if I could, just to take them away from ingrates.

I posted this on FB too. I'm at my legal limit with dogs or I'd be on my way.
Maybe someone with some room will see the post.

Have a Blessed Day???
Is that meant to make us feel better about these A$$holes? And they probably expect to receive $$ from whoever tries to rescue these poor dogs.
They obviously never heard the saying "A dog is for life..."

I hate to see ads like this. I think when you purchase an dog, serious unforeseeable life complications aside, you have them for life. Period. When people purchase pets they need to consider the lifespan and responsibilities of what they are undertaking.

I can't even imagine wanting to give my pets away! Heck, I like my cats more than I like a lot of people (ha!).

I saw a similar situation at the Oregon Humane Society several years ago. A cute little 12 year old cockapoo - completely scared spitless. The tag on her kennel said the owners were moving into a motor home and didn't think she'd be happy on the road. WTF? Because she's infinitely happier in an anonymous kennel waiting for a stranger to save her.

These people should be shot, abandoned in a strange place, and then shot again. Bastards.

Well gee, I wish I'd known there was an alternative to spending thousands keeping our congestive heart failure dog comfortable for the last year of his life, and then paying for euthanasia at home. I could have given him away on craigslist instead! I'll just content myself with imagining the blistering emails these "blessed" jerks are probably receiving.

Sheesh. Poor old dogs. We have given away one of our dogs. Ever. That was only because she was very unhappy and the other dogs picked on her no matter how much we tried to help. So we gave her up to my uncle and his family where she lived with their dog that she'd known and played with at family gatherings. We got to see her regularly and she was much happier and lived a very, very long and spoiled life. She was always excited to see us on visits however, no matter how long she was with them. I can't imagine giving any of our dogs to some stranger without a care.

Hell and damnation to those that do not accept end-of-life responsibility with pet ownership!

This just plain makes me mad. Not just wanting to give them away but keeping them crated all the time. Poor things. I too use a crate but only to keep my little dog safe when we are not home. Otherwise she will eat everything, paper, wire, couch. She is never ever in her crate more than 5 hours a day and only on the days that I work.

This is tame compared to some of the stuff I see in the CL pet section in our town. It makes my head explode to see how callous, cruel, irresponsible, and just plain stupid people can be.

The only consolation is at least they are looking for a new home for them instead of just ignoring them for the next few years until they die, or dumping them at a shelter. Maybe they can finish out their lives in a home that knows more about love and loyalty than these idiots.

Hopefully these folks will get similar treatment when it's time for their kids to put them in a home and forget about them.

I hate people .... just hate them !

WOW. I think this is the first time I've seen "The kids have moved out so the dogs have to go too." instead of "Have a baby now and don't have time for the pets anymore." (which I HATE seeing...You didn't think of that BEFORE?) The poor things.

people suck. i have been horse shopping a while now and i am dismayed at how often i find people wanting to unload their beloved horses at age 20+ now that they're no longer rideable. stick with it a few more years people, do the right thing, but no, they're greedy and idealistic...despite the availability of travelling butchers who offer a trauma-free end in your own paddock and money in their pockets...

Whywudyabreedit said...

Wow, I wonder if they expect their kids to take care of them when they get old and could use a little extra help.

When people tell themselves that being sent down the line into unknown circumstances is the best thing for their unwanted pets it really makes me wonder what other kinds of crazy shit they are telling themselves.

ESPECIALLY when they say that the animal needs a "forever" home, then I really wonder what the hell they are thinking! If they won't provide that then how do they feel ok expecting someone else to step up where they do not.

Whywudyabreedit said...

Why should someone else be more committed to YOUR animals than YOU are???

I can't think of the right words.....

I'm at my limit and in Florida to boot. I have two geriatrics in my crew now. A 26 year old Appaloosa and a 13 yr old Corgi mix....both going a little blinder and a little slower each month but still happy and well loved.

There's a special place in hell for people like this-- I've got a blessing for them.

And what's with the children? I guess with an attitude like this there's no way to raise caring, responsible offspring. Grrr.

I had a cocker spaniel from the time that I was 5 till the time that I was 22. Yup, that made him 17. I literally grew up with that dog, and he was my shadow. I'll never have another like him. What a terrible thing to do.

I am trying not to be judgemental, and to understand why they can't be looking after the dogs themselves and why the dogs have to spend most of the day in the crate.

i am failing...
