Fire

This was taken by a family friend--about 2 1/2 or 3 miles from our house. My neighborhood was spared, we are all safe, I am so grateful.
My heart goes out to those I know and those I don't whose lives have been torn apart by this amazing reminder of how life can change in just a moment.

  1. I'm so glad to hear that you and your family and animals are safe, but my heart goes out to those who have lost their homes. How terrifying!

  2. Utterly horrible. I was going to write that it looks like the sun on Earth, but then I realized that I meant something else when I saw the homes burning.

I am so sorry for those who have lost their homes. I am also relieved that you and yours are safe.

  3. Tears watching the firefighters. How utterly overwhelming and beyond imagination.

  4. It's so powerful seeing the firefighters not fighting to save the houses, knowing it's out of their control. So sad.
I'm glad you are all safe. Praying for you all!

  7. So glad you all are safe!!

Our daughter lives there too. But they are over by the airport, so they are not in a danger area.

    I hope it rains soon!!
Wish I could send ours there!!

  8. Oh Mugs the poor people who have lost all in this awful fire,it breaks your heart. But makes me grateful that we are a wet country in UK , over here people have lost all in the floods & up north had horrendous storms with a large amount of lightening strikes. There is just nothing can stop fire it's such a scary thing.Last year we were scared for my sons fiancee & her family in japan & scared to go there for their wedding. We were all ok & returned safely though we kept feeling aftershocks when we were there.I sometimes wonder why god allows such awful things to happen to nice decent people who really have done nothing to deserve it.Am thankful that you & your's are safe mugs & hope the people who have lost all get help quickly & can return to some semblance of normality.

  12. My thoughts are with you. We suffer them here in Australia & I know the devastation they leave behind.

  13. I am glad you and yours are safe, but wish all were. The video was impressive and terrifying. Who did the background music? It was haunting. We are in a heat wave/drought. I went out at noon to put the horses into their stalls with fans, and I could smell the grass toasting in the sun. Very odd and unnerving. The smell of smoke must be pervasive. I hope rain comes to us all, soon.

  14. Hey muggs maybe now would be a good time for a check list on to do if you have to be evacuated. And what all did you do for your horses in case you did have to be or in case you got separated from your horses.

  15. We are three hundred miles away and the sky is brown with smoke. The air stinks of it and the sun is a spooky red. I can't imagine how awful it must be there. The scenes video are terrible, glad you were spared at least.

  16. I am on the East Coast drying out from floods last week.

I cannot offer help by way of housing any animals, but could donate a little towards hay and feed for those horses that have been displaced.

Do you know anyone that needs help?

  18. I also live in Colorado Springs (East side). Glad you live far enough away that you didn't have to evacuate.

Luckily I board up in Black Forest and they have an excellent evacuation plan already in place, if needed.
